First show of the semester was fun. Favorite new song played?: Spoon's "Got Nuffin," one of my favorites off of their new album Transference. It was also showcased on TV's Chuck. Another great song was "Bulletproof" by La Roux, an excellent, danceable tune about not getting screwed over like you have in the past. An anthem for the ages, really. I fell in love with that song over winter break, but didn't get the chance to share it on the air.
Oh yes! And You've Got The Love (The xx remix). Phenomenal song. Talking about giving up, but then getting through it with the power of love. The song is a cover of a cover of a Candi Stanton disco tune. Florence + The Machine did the latest cover, and then The xx gave their own vibe to the song.
I'll add the playlist a bit later. Unfortunately the snowpocalypse has attacked the wmucradio.com server. Catch us this Friday (well maybe, if we're not snowed in) from noon - 2pm on http://wmucradio.com. Stay warm!
