The Beat Frequency: 9/29/09

"This Modern Love" is one of my favorite songs.  Silent Alarm is one of my favorite albums. I have a feeling I played this after watching it on How I Met Your Mother.

I also played Matt & Kim's 5k, after I ran a 5k the Saturday before.

The Beat Frequency: 9/15/09

Patrick Swayze passed away the day before the show.  RIP P-Swayz.

Also featured in this show was Gold Digger as done by the cast of Glee. I attended the Kings of Leon show at Merriweather Post Pavilion the week before, and the Ladyhawke show at 9:30 club with Ida Maria, Frankmusik, and Semi Precious Weapons.

Ida Maria: Like Janis Joplin, but on more drugs (I know it's hard to imagine)
Frankmusik: pop like it should be
Semi Precious Weapons: Queen meets Lady Gaga.

It was hosted by Perez Hilton, who I stood next to but had no interest in his fame whatsoever.

However, I did enjoy the music, even the stuff played in between the sets, which is where I heard Little Boots for the first time.

We're back!

It's that time of year again. Another semester, full of finals, exams, homework, and all that other stuff. But it's ok, because that also means regular radio shows!

The Beat Frequency is back at a new time: Tuesdays from noon-2pm.

I loved this week's playlist, because I recycled some of my old favorites. The first few song were also a tribute to the Virgin Mobile Free Fest concert I had the privilege of attending this past Sunday. It was pretty phenomenal.

Also, since the last time Jet was at Merriweather Post Pavilion was with Oasis they dedicated "Look What You've Done" to the band since they've now broken up.

So it goes.

The playlist for today's show is below:

Also, until Tuesday of next week you can download the show at:
